A small business asking for a simple five-page website is routinely quoted several thousand pounds and a six-week timeline. Plenty of them need exactly that, and it is worth the money. But a great many need something much simpler: a page that says what they do, shows some work, and puts a phone number where people can find it.

For that job the honest answer has always been “buy a template” — except buying a template usually means a subscription, an account, an editor that fights you, and a site you can never take with you. StencilNest removes all four.

Pick one of 30 templates across 30 business categories. Change the business name, the words, the colours and the photographs in a simple editor with a live preview next to it. Press generate, and download a ZIP containing a complete static website.

The whole editor runs in your browser. Your text and images are never uploaded, and the ZIP is assembled on your own machine. That is not a privacy feature bolted on afterwards — it is why the service can be free. Serving one more visitor costs us almost nothing, because we are not doing the work; your browser is.

• Plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript. No framework, no build step, nothing to install.
• Every image used on the site, plus a favicon and a web manifest.
• robots.txt, sitemap.xml, canonical tags, Open Graph tags and structured data.
• A README explaining how to publish it on shared hosting, Netlify, Vercel, GitHub Pages or Cloudflare.
• Yours to use commercially, modify and resell. The only condition is a small credit link in the footer.

Advertising, and nothing else. There is no paid tier, no upsell, no premium template held back and no trial that expires. Ads appear on the pages around the product — the homepage, the template library, the informational pages, and one on the screen shown while your ZIP is being built. There are never ads inside the editor canvas or on the download screen itself, and you are never asked to click one to continue.

We do not sell data. We could not sell your content even if we wanted to, because we never receive it. The privacy policy sets out exactly what the anonymous usage statistics record.

• Not a hosting service. You take the files and publish them wherever you like.
• Not a page builder with unlimited freeform layout. The template controls the structure, which is precisely why the results look designed rather than assembled.
• Not a CMS. There is no login, no database and no dashboard to maintain.
• Not an AI website generator. Every template was designed and written deliberately.

More templates, chosen by what people actually use rather than what we assume. Every template records how often it is viewed, used and downloaded, and the categories that convert best are the ones that get expanded. If a category you need is missing, telling us is the fastest way to get it built.
